6 WAYS TO PROTECT YOUR CHARITABLE GIVING

WAYS TO PROTECT

 YOUR CHARITABLE GIVING

You want your charitable giving to be a wise one and you want your hard earned dollars to do the most they can for making the world a better and safer place for animals.

6 These six ways will help you guarantee all that and more and you can feel comfortable in reaching out to making the world a better and safer place for pigs and all animals.

1.    ASK FOR SPECIFICS on what y0ur gift will really accomplish. The charity knows what it wants to do and is able to do it and understands how much it will cost if they can give detailed information.

2.    NEVER GIVE TO A CHARITY OVER THE PHONE who you don't know. Always ask for printed material in the mail so you can make a thoughtful and wise decision. You might also check them out on the web and check out who represents them, such as, Board of Directors. If they say they don't have anything in writing to send by mail, hang up quickly.

3.    DEMAND FINANCIAL CREDIBILITY. Check out their board of directors, see who they are and if they keep up to date with what is going on. Also find out how long they have known the people in charge. You might also want to ask questions about their accounting and how and who is in charge of it. Beware of organizations who have only one person in charge of finances and/or if they don't have accountability to at least  one other in the organization at any given time.

4.    APPRECIATE FRUGALITY. If the printed materials look to nice, the charity could be spending to much on graphic design and printing. Check to see what percentage of funds go directly to helping the animals and what percentage goes to administration.

5.    GIVE TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT STAY IN TOUCH .     Your gift has a much better chance of being used effectively if they know you are watching them.

6.    EXPECT A REPORT BACK. When a charity is meeting real needs in the lives of animals, they will want to let you know how your funds have made a difference. Keep an eye on their web site (if they have one) to see what is going on and how they are helping fulfill their mission of making a world a better and safer place for pigs and other animals.
